Description
Tanyards is a hall house that has its origins in the 15th century, with extensions added in the 16th and 20th centuries. The building features a timber frame with brick infilling, and the ground floor is clad in brick while the first floor has rendered infill in the center. It has a hipped roof covered with plain tiles and end gablets. The structure stands two storeys tall and consists of four framed bays, with a notable 17th-century multiple stack chimney to the left of the center and an end stack to the left. The windows are irregularly arranged leaded casements, with four on the first floor, some containing old glass, and four on the ground floor. There is a 20th-century door located to the right of the center. At the rear, there are 20th-century wings that are brick and tile hung.
