Description

A house, now divided, dating from the mid to late 16th century, with a later 18th-century extension to the left. The house is timber framed, standing on a plinth of coursed ironstone. The right and central sections have red brick infill between the framing, while the extensions are of red brick. It has a hipped roof covered with plain tiles. The building originally comprised three framed bays to the right, with a single-bay extension to the left. A square chimney stack is located at the rear left of the extension. The first floor features arched bracing and three casement windows, with the window to the left being larger. Three casements are irregularly placed on the ground floor. A 19th-century board door, set within a wooden surround, is accessed by a flight of six steps (at Bettswy). A further door is situated on the right-hand return front.

The right-hand return front has a jettied first floor clad in whitewashed rendered material. A gabled extension, clad in weatherboarding, projects to the right, with a catslide roof to the rear left.

The interior retains significant timber framing, including a square-panel partition wall. It is possible that this represents the remains of a cross-wing of a house that has since been demolished.
