Description
Betchetts Green is a cottage dating from the late 16th century to early 17th century, which has been restored and extended in the 20th century. It features a timber frame set on a brick plinth, with brick infill below and tile hanging above. The right-hand return front has whitewashed brick infill to the exposed frame and a plain tiled roof. The cottage is two storeys high, with a double stack chimney to the left of the centre and an end stack chimney to the right. There are three 20th-century casement windows on the first floor and two windows below. A stable door is located at the left end, and a glazed door is positioned to the right of centre. The right-hand return front displays a Queen-post roof structure with arched bracing on the first floor. At the rear, there is a small framed outshot and a brick and tile-hung wing that extends at right angles to the main range.
