Description

Old Nag's Cottage, also known as September Cottage, dates to the 17th century. It comprises two parallel ranges. One range is stuccoed, while the other is constructed from sandstone rubble and brick. The roof is tiled, and there are three dormers in the attic, each with a tiled gable. The ground floor features three 19th-century bay windows. Inside, rooms contain oak beams. A later range was added to the rear of the original structure. The site was formerly the location of the Old Nag’s Head, a public house allegedly used by smugglers.
