Description
The gateway and attached walls located approximately 15 metres southeast of Manor Farmhouse were built in 1615 and are designed in the Jacobean style using limestone ashlar. The gate arch features a chamfered 4-centred arch with simple imposts, and the spandrels display shields of arms. The outer piers have niches above the imposts, and there is a moulded cornice. The central shaped gable includes strapwork and a moulded square finial, while the smaller shaped gables on either side are simpler, adorned with carved ribbons and shaped panels. The left panel reads 'ANO DOM' and the right panel reads '1615' in relief. The moulded square finials have projections resembling handles. The short sections of wall on the left and right are made of regularly coursed limestone with stone slate coping, standing approximately 4 metres high.
