Barn approx. 20Om ESE Of Abbey Farmhouse

Field barn. C18, with circa early C19 extension. Coursed limestone rubble with dressed quoins. Gable-ended roof clad in corrugated sheet steel. PLAN : 5-bay barn, the centre bay a threshing bay with opposing cart entrances, the west front with a midstrey; originally a loft over the midstrey; circa early C 19 outshut on the north side of the midstrey. The barn faces a fold yard, on the north side of which is the remains of a cattle-shelter. EXTERIOR: West front has midstrey at centre with hipped roof and cart entrance with timber lintel and window above; lean-to outshut added to left side of midstrey. Small triangular ventilation holes in the walls. East elevation has cart entrance at centre with timber lintel. INTERIOR: Stone paved threshing floor. 5-bay tie-beam and collar roof with mortice-and-tenon joints, tenoned purlins and common-rafters intact with ridge-board; similar midstrey roof
