Description

This barn, located approximately 40 metres south of Abbey Farmhouse, dates from the early 18th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features wooden lintels, topped with a corrugated-iron roof. The barn has a five-bay plan and includes central opposed double doors. The gables are equipped with triangular vents. Inside, the trusses consist of tiebeams and collars, supporting two rows of butt purlins with through tenons. The bays on either side of the central threshing floor have raised wooden floors resting on stone sleeper walls.
