Description

This barn, located to the southeast of Abbey Farmhouse, dates from the late 16th century or early 17th century, with repairs and rebuilding from the 19th century, as indicated by a plaque in the gable dated 1846. The structure is timber-framed and weatherboarded, featuring a high brick plinth and gable walls, topped with a corrugated iron roof. It consists of four bays and was originally longer. The barn includes braced tie beams and posts, with windbraces connecting the principal rafters to the collar in each roof bay. The main entrances are located in the gable.
