Description
This barn, located approximately 25 meters south of Abbey Farmhouse, likely has medieval origins but mainly dates from the mid-19th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, featuring ventilation holes, with more dressed blocks on the mid-19th century right side wall. The barn has a gabled stone slate roof, while the rear right range has a taller concrete tile roof. The structure is L-shaped, with a five-bay barn at the front. There are timber lintels over 20th-century double doors leading to the threshing floor in the central bay and over a smaller opening on the right. A medieval buttress is present at the rear. The right side wall includes mid-19th century segmental headed windows and a timber lintel over double doors. The barn at the rear is made of limestone rubble and has a corrugated iron roof. Inside, the roof structure is from the mid-19th century.
