Description
Two cottages located at 1 and 2 The Square in Eynsham, dating from the 17th century and remodelled in the early 18th century. They are constructed of coursed limestone and rubble, topped with a gabled stone slate roof. The left end features a brick stack, while the right end has an external stack made of stone finished in brick. The cottages have been remodelled into a four-unit plan and stand two storeys high with a three-window range. There are flat stone arches over two 20th-century doors, with 2-light casements and an early 19th-century eight-pane sash window to the right. The doors are positioned on either side of a central early 19th-century square bay window, which also has an eight-pane sash. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
