Description
Myrtle Cottage and Pennsylvania Cottage are three cottages arranged in a row, dating from the 17th century or early 18th century, and have been significantly modified over time. They are constructed of squared and coursed limestone, with the front roof slope covered in slate on the left side and concrete tiles on the right. The rear slope features a mix of stone slate and concrete tiles. The cottages are built in three sections, with the leftmost section being two stories tall and featuring two windows, while the right section is two and a half stories tall with two windows.
The windows vary, including several two or three-light stone mullioned casements with stopped hoods at the ground floor. The left half has a glazed porch and a 20th-century door, while the right side includes a blocked doorway and, at the extreme right, an 18th-century plank door set beneath a deep lintel, along with a vertical oval oculus. There is one brick chimney stack and one stone chimney stack. The gable end facing the road has two 20th-century casements at the first floor and a two-light recessed chamfer stone mullioned casement with a hood at the ground floor. The rear of the cottages features scattered windows, including one two-light stone casement.
