Description
Cuckolds Holt Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble and some squared marlstone, featuring wooden lintels and a Stonesfield-slate roof with stone-and-brick stacks. The building has a three-unit plan, along with a rear outshut and a service bay, and it stands two storeys tall. The long front has three windows, each with three-light casements on both floors. The entrance is located between the first and second bays, and a marlstone band above one of the ground-floor windows suggests that there was an earlier window arrangement. The steep-pitched roof has two gable stacks, one of which has a marlstone plinth, and there is a ridge stack positioned to the right of the entrance. To the right, the lower service bay has additional casements. The interior has not been inspected. The farmhouse is situated beside an ancient drove road and was previously used as a drovers' inn known as The White Hart.
