Description

Box Tree Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th or early 18th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble with wooden lintels, and has an artificial stone-slate roof with ashlar gable stacks. The original plan comprised two main rooms with a rear outshut.

The front facade is symmetrical and has two windows. A central doorway is set within a 20th-century stone porch with a heavy, chamfered frame. The upper and lower floors both have three-light leaded casement windows. The roof has two leaded dormers. The west-facing gable has small leaded windows. Part of the outshut has been raised to create a gabled rear wing, which incorporates a re-used leaded casement window.

The interior was not inspected.
