Description
Crown House is an early 18th-century house located on the south side of Manor Road in Sandford St Martin. It is a two-story house with an attic, built of coursed squared marlstone and has an artificial stone-slate roof, with limestone ashlar gable stacks. The house is arranged in an ‘L’ shape.
The symmetrical front facade has three windows, each with leaded cross windows and flat arches on both floors. The central ground floor window appears to have replaced a doorway. The roof has gable parapets, two gabled roof dormers, and double-shafted stacks with plinths and cornices. The left side of the house returns to a rear wing, which also features leaded casement windows and cross windows. The interior of the house has not been inspected.
