FYFIELD AND TUBNEY NETHERTON LANE SU49NW (East side) Netherton 5/66 Stone's Farmhouse and attached walls

GV II

Farmhouse. Late C17, extended mid C18. Coursed limestone rubble; gabled roof with stone slates to front and C20 tiles to rear; stone ridge stack. 3-unit lobby-entry plan. 2 storeys: 3-window range. Timber lintel over C20 door: C20 porch. Timber lintels over C19 four-light casements and similar C20 window to left adjoining blocked opening: segmental brick arches over C19 first-floor 3-light casements. Rear dairy outshut, and mid C18 two-storey wing to right of similar materials with brick dressings. Interior: C19 panelled shutters and doors. Chamfered and stopped beam and similar bressumer over open fireplace in right room. Chamfered beams, open fireplace, and unusual brick vaulted dairy to left. Roof not inspected. Subsidiary features: wall of limestone rubble attached to right of front, meets wall with bee boles at right angles and approximately 15 metres south-east of house.
