Description

Stone's Farmhouse is a late 17th-century farmhouse that was extended in the mid-18th century. It is built of coursed limestone rubble and features a gabled roof with stone slates on the front and 20th-century tiles on the rear, along with a stone ridge stack. The farmhouse has a three-unit lobby-entry plan and is two storeys high with a three-window range. There is a 20th-century door with a timber lintel and a 20th-century porch. The windows include 19th-century four-light casements with timber lintels, and there is a similar 20th-century window to the left of a blocked opening. The first floor has 19th-century three-light casements with segmental brick arches above. At the rear, there is a dairy outshut and a mid-18th-century two-storey wing made of similar materials with brick dressings. Inside, there are 19th-century panelled shutters and doors, a chamfered and stopped beam, and a similar bressumer over the open fireplace in the right room. The left room features chamfered beams, an open fireplace, and an unusual brick vaulted dairy. The roof has not been inspected. Attached to the right of the front of the farmhouse is a wall of limestone rubble that meets another wall with bee boles at right angles, located approximately 15 metres southeast of the house.
