Description
Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from around 1700. It is constructed of uncoursed limestone rubble and features a hipped Welsh slate roof, with stone finished in render over brick end stacks. The building has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys tall with an attic, presenting a symmetrical five-window range. Early 19th century steps lead up to the entrance, flanked by piers and stone-coped side walls. Consoles support a flat hood over the 19th century double-leaf panelled doors. The windows have renewed stone lintels and include late 18th century to early 19th century six-pane sashes. Gabled roof dormers contain 19th century two-light casements. At the rear, there are sashes and two early 18th century wood-mullioned cross windows that flank a three-storey stair turret. To the left, there is a mid-19th century extension built from similar materials.
Inside, the central hall features bolection panelling and leads through a segmental-arched entry to a dog-leg staircase adorned with twisted urn balusters and square newels with pendentives. The doors are also bolection-panelled. The rooms to the right contain bolection panelling, with a central closet, and the room to the left has an early 18th century fireplace with a bolection-moulded architrave and overmantle. On the first floor, there is a panelled room above the entry and three early 18th century fireplaces with bolection-panelled surrounds and over mantels. These rooms feature moulded cornices and a bolection-panelled dado to the right. The attic includes ribbed doors and a collar-truss roof.
