Description

Stone's Farmhouse, now a house, dates to the 17th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, with an old tile roof and a limestone rubble stack. The farmhouse follows a two-unit lobby entry plan. It is two storeys high with a three-window front. A chamfered timber lintel sits above a 19th-century plank front door, and a late 19th-century gable porch has been added. Windows have chamfered timber lintels, with the exception of a new lintel to the left, and are 20th-century casements. The roof is gabled, with a stack along the ridge. A mid-20th century extension has been added to the rear left side, and a mid-19th century tiled outshut exists at the centre rear, featuring two mid-19th century two-light casements. The interior includes 19th- and 20th-century plank doors. The room to the right has a full set of chamfered spine beams with run-out stops, and a wood bressumer over the open fireplace. The room to the left features a cyma-stopped beam, a plain wood bressumer over the fireplace, and a quarter-turn staircase. A first-floor room to the left also has a chamfered wood bressumer over an open fireplace. Very little of the original roof structure remains.
