Description
The White House is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from around 1750. It features rendered walling, artificial stone slates, and brick stacks. The building has a three-unit plan and stands two storeys high with a six-window range. Notable features include French doors from around 1970 set within a mid-19th century moulded wood architrave, and a porch from around 1860 with a swept lead roof and decorative ironwork on the sides. The windows have segmental arches above mid-18th century sashes and a mid-19th century horned six-pane sash on the bottom right. There is a projecting plinth and a storey band, along with two skylights in the roof. The roof is gabled with ridge and left end stacks. There are 20th century windows and a flat-roofed extension at the rear. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
