Description

Pear Tree Cottage is a late 17th-century house located on Netherton Lane in Fyfield and Tubney Netherton. The house is constructed from uncoursed limestone rubble, with a gabled concrete tile roof and a stone ridge stack. It follows a two-unit lobby-entry plan. The two-storey facade has a three-window range. A 20th-century timber lintel is above the 20th-century front door, which is flanked by 19th-century three-light casement windows on the ground floor. The first floor has 19th-century two-light casement windows. Inside, the right-hand room features chamfered and stopped beams. The left room and the room above contain chamfered beams with step-stopped ends. The original quarter-turn staircase with winders is located to the rear of the stack.
