Description
Glebe Cottage is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house, dating from the early to mid 17th century and remodelled in the mid 19th century. The building is constructed of uncoursed limestone rubble with brick quoins on the left and brick dressings. It features a gabled and hipped old tile roof, with stone gable end stacks on the left and rear right. The layout consists of a 3-unit plan with a cross wing to the right. The cottage is two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-window range. There is a timber lintel over the central 20th-century door, and concrete lintels over the 19th-century casement windows. A one-bay extension is located at the rear right, made of similar materials with some 20th-century brick rebuilding. A timber lintel is present over a blocked door at the rear. Inside, the cottage includes 18th-century two-panelled doors and chamfered and stopped beams.
