Description
Bellhangers is a house dating from the late 17th century, constructed of coursed limestone rubble with a gabled concrete tile roof. It features a stone stack at the left end with projecting thatch stones. The building has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys high, with a symmetrical two-window arrangement. A fine late 17th-century ribbed door is topped by a timber lintel, and there is a late 19th-century gabled timber porch. The windows include late 19th-century casements with glazing bars on the left and sash windows with glazing bars on the right, both featuring chamfered timber lintels. Inside, there is a late 17th-century wood bolt and iron draw bar located at the rear of the front door. The interior also showcases cased beams, with the room to the left containing stop-chamfered joists and an open fireplace with a bressumer. The roof structure consists of collar trusses with butt purlins.
