Description
No. 14 School Road, which includes No. 99 Green Road, is a building that was originally a workhouse and has now been converted into two houses. It dates from the 18th century and was remodeled as a workhouse in 1754, while No. 99 is likely from the early 19th century. The structure is built of coursed limestone rubble and features a gabled concrete tile roof with brick ridge and lateral stacks. It is arranged in an L-plan with a rear left wing and has two storeys with a five-window range. The façade includes timber lintels over two 20th-century doors and 20th-century two-light casements. The left side wall of No. 99 has a three-window range with a 20th-century door and windows, while the right side wall features two-light leaded casements. Inside, there are plain beams and a collar-truss roof with butt purlins. No. 99 has not been inspected.
