Description
Tower Hill is a house located on Kidlington High Street, built around 1820 to 1830. It features coursed limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings, topped with a gabled Welsh slate roof and brick end stacks. The house has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys high with a symmetrical three-window range. The entrance includes a six-panelled door with a decorative overlight, set within an open-pedimented architrave supported by pilasters. The windows have keyed flat stone lintels above six-pane sashes. There are raised bands at the storey and eaves levels. At the rear, there are three-light leaded casements with turnbuckles and runner bars. A one-storey service wing is located to the rear right, which contains a reset early 16th-century two-light chamfered round-arched window in a lean-to. Inside, there is a dog-leg staircase with stick balusters at the rear and early 19th-century panelled doors, one of which retains its brass lock.
