Description
This is a house, originally dating from the late 17th century to the rear, with a front block built in the early 19th century. The front is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with an ashlar facade. It has gabled Welsh slate roofing to the front and gabled stone slate roofing to the rear, with ashlar end stacks. The house follows a double-depth plan.
The front features two storeys and a symmetrical arrangement of three windows. A portico with a moulded cornice and columns leads to a front door, which is surrounded by decorative moulded features and a decorative fanlight, and contains six panels, four of which are glazed. A late 19th-century canted bay window with plate-glass sashes is located on the right-hand side. The windows on the front have six panes and are set within keyed stone lintels. A raised storey band and a band beneath the parapet further define the front facade.
The rear of the property includes a late 17th-century two-storey range. A stair turret with a hipped roof adjoins a 19th-century rear wing constructed of brick and limestone rubble. To the left is a two-storey range built around 1900, with mullioned stone windows. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
