Description

This is a mid-18th century farmhouse, later adapted into a house, with an addition built in the early 19th century. The exterior is constructed of roughly-cut limestone rubble, with a gabled roof covered in stone slate. The ridge and end stacks are made of late 19th-century brick. The building’s original layout was based on three rooms. It has two storeys and an attic, with a three-window front. Flat stone arches are above the mid-19th century windows, which have horns and six panes of glass. A 20th-century sash window is set into the blocked doorway on the left side of the building. Three dormers with moulded cornices break the roofline. 19th-century plank doors are located in the left and right end walls. The rear of the building features a hipped stair turret, along with three early 19th-century two-story wings; the central wing has a concrete tile roof, and the wing to the left has a Welsh slate roof. Inside, the layout is simple with plain beams and an open fireplace in the centre room. The room to the right features panelled shutters, an open fireplace with a chamfered bressumer, and access to a winder staircase via a panelled door.
