Description
Style Cottage is a 19th-century cottage located on the south side of Uffington Upper Common. The exterior features graffito above the window with the inscription WB/P/CBM/JSL/1824. It is constructed from squared and coursed chalk, with quoins at the rear, and has a thatched roof with a brick stack. The cottage has a two-unit plan with an outshut to the rear left and is one and a half stories tall, presenting a two-window range. A late 20th-century weatherboarded porch leads to a 20th-century planked front door on the left. The windows include a segmental arch and timber lintel over 20th-century two-light casements, while there is a 19th-century two-light casement on the first floor. The roof is half-hipped with a ridge stack. Inside, there are original planked doors, a quarter-turn and straight-flight staircase to the right, and a two-bay roof truss that is obscured.
