Description
2 Castle Square and 1 and 2 Castle Close is a house that has been converted into three dwellings. It dates from the early 18th century, with a front added in the late 18th century. The building is made of red brick with grey headers and features a slate hipped roof with brick end stacks. It is two stories high and has a two-window range. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door with an overlight, surrounded by a moulded wood frame and a flat hood supported by shaped brackets. All openings have 12-pane unhorned sash windows. There is a flat brick band between the ground and first floors, and a dentil cornice at the eaves. The right side of the building is constructed of stone rubble with brick dressings and has irregularly placed casement windows. The interior has not been inspected.
