Description
Laurel Cottage is a house that likely dates from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th century. It is constructed of red brick featuring grey brick headers and has an old plain-tile half-hipped roof with a central brick ridge stack. The building follows a two-unit lobby-entry plan and is two storeys high with a two-window range. The central entrance consists of a four-panel door topped by a flat hood. To the left of the door is a 24-pane sash window, while to the right is an angled bay window with sash windows. The first floor has 12-pane sash windows. At the rear, the structure is made of limestone rubble with red brick dressings and has irregularly placed windows. There is also a subsidiary two-storey, two-window range to the left, built of random coursed limestone rubble with brick dressings, featuring 12-pane sashes in all openings.
