Description

This building is a barn, likely dating from the early 18th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It features a rendered plinth and large timber framing covered with 20th-century weatherboarding. The roof is made of old plain tiles and has a catslide on the left side. The barn has four bays, with a doorway located to the right of the center and an opposing doorway at the rear, although both doors are missing. There are also 20th-century plank double garage doors to the right.

Inside, the barn has a curved principal roof that retains most of its original common rafters. Attached to the right is a stable built in the mid-19th century, constructed of brown brick with red brick dressings and an old plain-tile roof, featuring a brick ridge stack on the right. This stable is a single-storey structure with a three-window range and a three-window cross-wing. It has a plank door to the left and another door at the center of the cross-wing. All openings have round-headed windows with glazing bars. Inside the stable, there are horse stalls with rail-topped partitions. The barn and stables are included for their group value with Towersey Manor House.
