Description

This building is a barn and former stable, likely dating from the early 18th century, with some later alterations. It is constructed of Flemish bond brick and features a plain-tile roof with coped gable parapets. The barn, which is three bays wide, has plank doors on the left side, along with vents and three small 20th-century windows. The right bay includes a large 20th-century opening with a wooden lintel. At the rear, there is an outshut animal pen that has two small round-arched openings and plank doors. A late 20th-century door has been added to the right of the barn doors. Inside, there is a timber-framed internal division on the left, with late 20th-century brick infill and a new floor installed in the left bay; the right division has been removed. The roof features a queen strut trenched purl. The former stable has been partially converted into a garage, with a wide opening that includes a reused beam. The left part has been rebuilt in 20th-century brick, and there are late 20th-century double doors at the rear. Inside the stable, there is a chamfered beam. This building is included for its group value.
