Description

HARTSHILL GRANGE ROAD SP39SW (South-east side) 5/99 Barn and former stable approx. 25/11/69 1.5m NE of Hartshill Grange (Formerly listed as Barn adjoining Hartshill Grange) GV II Barn and former stable. Probably early C18, with later alterations. Flemish bond brick. Plain-tile roof has coped gable parapets. 3-bay barn to left has plank doors. Left bay has vents and 3 small C20 windows. Right bay has large C20 opening with wood lintel. To rear is an outshut animal pen with 2 small round-arched openings and plank doors. Late C20 door inserted to right of barn doors. Interior has timber framed internal division to left, with late C20 brick infill; late C20 floor inserted in left bay; right division has been removed. Queen strut trenched purl in roof. Former stable has rendered right part converted to garage: wide opening has re-used beam. Left part rebuilt in C20 brick. Late C20 double doors to rear. Interior has chamfered beam. Included for group value.
