Description
Riverside Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th century, with a 20th-century extension. It features timber framing with plastered and brick infill set on a limestone rubble plinth, topped with a shingle roof and 20th-century brick gable stacks. The building has a two-unit plan and is one storey plus an attic. The front has two windows, each with two-light casements, and an entrance inserted at the extreme right. The framing for two small first-floor windows is still visible, but these have been replaced by 20th-century dormers. There is a single-storey brick extension to the right side. The rear of the cottage has brick infill and straight braces. Inside, there are large fireplaces featuring chamfered bressumers.
