Description
Bridge Cottage is a 17th-century building that was extended in the 20th century. It features timber framing with plastered infill set on a limestone rubble plinth, topped by a shingle roof with a brick ridge stack. The cottage has a two-unit plan, with a rear outshut and extensions. It is one storey plus an attic. The front has two windows and an entrance located in a 20th-century porch at the extreme left. The ground floor has 20th-century casements, while the attic features older three-light gabled dormers. The roof is half-hipped and includes a large central stack. The right gable wall has additional casements and straight braces. The outshut displays some late nailed framing but is mostly rebuilt. The 20th-century extensions to the left are not of special architectural interest. Inside, there is a large central stack with back-to-back fireplaces that include remnants of bread ovens.
