Description

Church Farmhouse is an early to mid-18th century brick farmhouse situated in Stadhampton. Constructed in Flemish bond brickwork with some flared headers, it features an old plain-tile roof and brick stacks. The building is arranged in an L-shape. The symmetrical front elevation, originally a three-window arrangement, incorporates a stepped plinth, a storey band, and a dentil eaves course. The brickwork on the front is chequered, and it originally featured four-pane sash windows under segmental arches; the central doorway is now concealed by a 20th-century porch. Parapets with shaped stone kneelers top both gable walls, and large, tapering chimney projections are present. Two small gabled roof dormers are also visible. A lower rear wing returns to the left. The interior includes an open fireplace and a central hall with a staircase, which has heavy turned balusters and a closed string.
