Description
The Mount is a pair of houses located in Chiselhampton, dating from the early 18th century, with a 20th-century extension. The buildings feature timber framing with plastered and brick infill, and the front is finished in colourwashed brick. The roofs are shingle with a brick ridge stack. The houses have a single-unit and a two-unit plan, both with rear outshuts, and stand one storey plus an attic.
The front facade has three windows arranged in Flemish bond, with two 3-light casements situated between two entrances, and a small casement on the far right. The three openings on the right side have segmental arches, and there is a large plank shutter. The first floor features two 3-light dormers and a smaller dormer on the far right. The roof is half hipped to the right and has a large spreading stack positioned to the left of center. The right gable wall is timber framed, and the outshut is made of weatherboarded timber framing. The interiors have not been inspected, and it is possible that the buildings were originally one dwelling.
