Description
Crown Bank Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th century, with later alterations and additions. It features a timber frame with plastered infill panels and a plastered brick extension, topped with a plain tile roof and brick end stacks. The building has a two-cell plan oriented north-south, facing east, with a single-bay extension to the south, likely from the 19th century.
The cottage is two storeys tall and displays three square panels at the eaves level, supported by straight braces. The original 17th-century structure has scattered windows, primarily casements, and a 20th-century door located to the left of centre, which includes a rectangular overlight. There are possible blocked doorways on both sides of this entrance. The brick extension on the left also features casement windows, with the ground floor window having a segmental head. Inside, there is an exposed queen strut roof truss visible on the right-hand gable.
