Description

These are an early to mid-19th century pair of villas, originally stuccoed. A decorative band runs along the first-floor sill height, and the gables feature carved bargeboards. The roofs are slate-covered, and there are elaborate chimneys with diagonal stacks rising from square plinths. Each villa is two storeys high with three windows under the gable. The windows are 19th century casements, with three lights in some and two in others; number 4 has one blank window on the first floor. The door surrounds are made of channelled stucco.

Numbers 2 and 4 form a group with numbers 2 to 8 (even), number 17, numbers 23 to 27 (odd) across the road, and the listed walls and gate piers relating to number 17A, The New House, number 17, Henley Park, and numbers 2 to 8 (even).
