Description

Bushnell's Cottage and Qwips Cottage form a cottage row, now used as two dwellings, dating from the early to mid-18th century. The cottages are constructed of partly-colourwashed limestone rubble with squared quoins and timber lintels, and have asbestos-slate and old plain-tile roofs with brick stacks. The building consists of one- and two-unit plans, now configured as two and three units respectively. It is one storey high with attics. The front elevation currently has three doors and six casement windows, but formerly had four doors. There are four gabled dormers. Bushnell's Cottage has a 20th-century stone extension to the left and at the rear. The interior has not been inspected. The cottages were probably originally service cottages. They are included on the list for their group value.
