Description

A row of three cottages dates from the early 19th century. The cottages are built of coursed rubble stone with alternating flush quoins, and have slate roofs with brick end and ridge stacks. The design is a single range with small rear extensions. There are two windows to each cottage, with nine-pane sash windows to Nos. 1 and 3, and twelve-pane sashes to No. 2, all set within flush stone surrounds. All ground floor windows are twelve-pane sashes in similar surrounds. Each cottage has a centrally placed door with a gabled open timber porch featuring a round arch within the front gable, supported by wooden struts. Nos. 1 and 2 have 20th-century doors, while No. 3 has a door of four flush panels. Internal shutters remain on the ground floor. The cottages demonstrate group value through their cohesive design and historic significance.
