Description
The gazebo at Croft House is located in the north-west corner of the garden and dates from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is constructed of rubble stone and features a low pyramidal slate roof with projecting wooden eaves and a weathervane. There is a lateral brick stack on the north side. The structure has two storeys and includes round-headed windows on the east and west sides, which are fitted with 9-pane single sashes and fixed radial glazed tops, framed by brick voussoirs. On the south side, there is a round oculus with radial glazing and a brick surround, along with a round-headed window below that has brick voussoirs, a blocked semi-circular head, and a plain 9-pane casement. The west side features a round-headed door, also with brick voussoirs, a radial fanlight, and a 6-panel door, the top four panels of which are glazed. Above the door, there is likely an inserted carved stone head on a bracket. The interior is in good condition, showcasing a winding timber stair and a small iron fireplace on each floor.
