Description
The building is a large circular dovecote, believed to be medieval and possibly dating from the 16th century. It is constructed of rubble stone and features a conical stone slate roof topped with an octagonal small glazed lantern. On the south side, there is a narrow flush stone doorway that contains an original or very old plank door fitted with strap hinges, along with a small inserted light and a 2-light stone mullion above. Inside, the dovecote has a very large coursed stone central column, and both the column and the internal face of the wall are extensively patterned with pierced dove holes. Adjacent to the west side is a small 19th-century farm building made of random coursed rubble, also with a stone slate roof. This building is single storey with a loft, featuring a cambered head doorway and window on the south side, as well as a loft door and fanlight to the west.
