Description
The dovecote at Garendon Park likely has medieval origins. The lower part is constructed of rubble stone, featuring plinth quoins and a moulded string course, while the upper section is made of red brick with a brick dentil cornice. It has a Swithland slate roof and a basic wooden louvre. The dovecote has a square plan and pediments on the east and west sides. On the west side, there is a low doorway framed by massive beams, which may have been the original entrance. Inside, there are nesting boxes made of stone and brick.
