Description
Garendon Park features a mid-18th century gateway and railings leading to the Hall. The gateway is stuccoed and has a round arch, with rusticated Doric columns that support a triglyph frieze and a pediment. The rear elevation includes rusticated Doric pilasters. The wrought iron railings on either side of the gateway incorporate decorative panels and have scrolls at both ends. This structure was originally part of a pair of gateways that flanked Garendon Hall, which was demolished in 1964. The railings extend approximately 1 yard to the east and about 15 yards to the west of the gateway.
