Description

This is a house, dating from the early 18th century, although part may be older. It is constructed from limestone rubble with squared quoins and timber lintels, and has an old plain-tile roof with brick gable stacks. The original design comprised two units, with a later rear outshot added. The house has two storeys and attic space. The front facade has two window bays. A six-panel door is located to the left of the centre, sheltered by a flat wooden canopy supported on scroll brackets. Small-pane, three-light casement windows are positioned to the left and right at both ground and first floor levels. A straight joint in the facade suggests an earlier construction date for the right-hand bay. Windows in the left gable wall have brick relieving arches. The rear outshot, probably dating to the mid-to-late 18th century, has brick quoins. The interior has not been inspected. Battlemoor Cottage, located adjacent to the right, may have been part of the larger Battlemoor estate.
