Description

Merry Cottage is a small house dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century. It is constructed of colourwashed limestone rubble with timber lintels and features a thatched roof with a stone and brick gable stack. The building has a two-unit plan and is one storey plus attics. The front elevation has two windows and a central 20th-century tiled porch. To the left, there is a three-light casement window, and to the right, there is an enlarged three-light casement window. There are also two small dormers. The stack on the left is partly made of old thin bricks set on a stone base. The rear of the cottage is obscured by a 20th-century outshut. The interior has not been inspected.
