Description
This is a row of two cottages located on Church Lane, dating from the mid-18th century with later alterations in the 18th and 20th centuries. The cottages are built from coursed limestone rubble and feature a steeply pitched red-tile roof, with renewed brick ridge and end stacks. Each cottage has a single unit plan and extends to the rear. The buildings are two storeys high and together have a four-window range. There are two entrances, with the entrance to No. 2 located in the left gable, featuring a four-panelled door with wood frames and a wood lintel. The ground floor has three 16-pane sash windows with wood lintels, while the first floor has four two-light wood casements set in wood frames. The cottages also have limestone quoins. The interiors have not been inspected. These cottages are included for their group value.
