Description
This barn, located approximately 20 metres east of Number 47 (Upper Green Farmhouse), is likely from the late 17th century and was converted into a barn, stable, and cowshed in 1790, which is noted on a carved tie-beam. The structure features a stone uncoursed rubble plinth, large timber framing with weatherboarding, and an old plain-tile roof. It consists of four bays, with the left bay serving as a cowshed, the bay to the left of centre as a stable, and the final two bays remaining as a barn. There are plank double doors to the right of centre with opposing doors at the rear, and two stable doors to the left of centre. Inside, the cowshed contains late 18th-century milking stalls, while the stable has a hay loft and feeding rack. The entire building has a double Queen-post roof.
