Description
This is a barn located approximately 20 meters north of Number 211, Kennington Manor House. It dates from the early 17th century and is constructed of uncoursed limestone rubble, featuring ashlar quoins, dressings, and random blocks. The left bays are covered with weatherboarding over a timber frame. The barn has a gabled thatch roof and a four-bay plan, with a threshing floor situated in the second bay from the right. There are 20th-century plank doors with old strap hinges and a timber lintel above the rear doors. The barn includes splayed ventilation slits. Inside, there is a four-bay collar-truss roof with purlins clasped between principals of slight scantling and canted under-principals, along with braced and jowled posts in the timber-framed section on the left.
