Description

This is an early 18th-century barn and stables range located approximately 30 metres north of Warren Farmhouse. A datestone indicates the stables were built in 1740. The barn features weatherboarded timber framing on a limestone rubble plinth, while the stables have Flemish-bond brickwork on a rubble plinth. Both sections share a corrugated-iron roof. The four-bay barn has a porch and a pair of full-height doors on opposing sides. The two-bay stable range, with a loft above, has a higher plinth with brick quoins and moulded weathering, and features altered openings. A brick is inscribed with the date "1740". Inside the barn, the roof structure includes clasped purlins with curved inner principals, short curved struts, straight windbraces, and posts with moulded and chip-carved jowls. The interior of the stables was not inspected.
