Description
This building is a barn and stable range located approximately 30 metres northeast of Baldon House, dating from the early to late 18th century. It features weatherboarded timber framing set on brick-lined limestone rubble plinths, with some sections built of limestone rubble and brick, and has old plain-tile roofs. The structure consists of a Z-shaped layout with three barns and a stable: the western barn, built in the early 18th century, has five bays and central opposed entrances, with the roof extending over open shelters that face the yard. To the west, there is a two-bay stable made of rubble and brick. The central and eastern barns each have four bays and are likely from the mid to late 18th century, featuring half-hipped roofs. Inside, the five-bay barn has a clasped-purlin roof with curved inner principals and braced collars, while the other roofs are of a similar but simpler construction.
