Description
This building is a barn and stable located approximately 25 meters north of the homestead, likely dating from around 1797. The barn features a square coursed stone plinth and is constructed from brick with flared headers in Flemish bond. It has an old plain-tile half-hipped roof and is designed in an L-shape with three-bay arms that meet at a square junction. There are plank double doors at the center of each arm, and the brickwork includes a diaper pattern for ventilation, with two round holes in each brick. Inside, the barn has a curved under-principal roof.
Attached to the right end of the barn is the stable, which also likely dates from around 1797 but has undergone some later alterations. It is made of red brick and features an old plain-tile roof that is half-hipped to the right. The stable is a single storey with a loft and has a three-bay range. There is a double stable door leading to a recessed porch at the center, with 20th-century two-light casements on either side. Inside the stable, some stalls and part of a feeding trough and rack remain.
